Christmas Rush…

We have been very busy since November with new designs rolling off the table every few days.  Here are just a few:

Austin Art Metals was born in around 1998, when the bottom was falling out of the local electricians union, and Sonny Sartwell was finding it harder and harder to get work. He and his wife, Judi, were taking metal art, and welding classes at the local community college, and decided it would be fun to make a business doing something you love. Sonny started making metal fences, and went on to gates, railings, banisters, furniture, and spiral staircases. As the list grew, so did his reputation as a good craftsman, and a good person to work with. Today we’ve added a computerized plasma cutter, so we can also cut out component parts for just about anything, silhouettes, you name it. We’re still having fun too.     dragonfly

We will spare you the “Under_Construction.gif” cliche, while we work on building this site.

Instead, please enjoy these pix of actual construction: A custom staircase for a local Austin architect.

What are these kids doing in YOUR kid’s (or grandkid’s) chair?

We have been asking ourselves the same question. THIS chair was little Emmy’s birthday gift and we were proud to deliver it! At the moment she is willing to share with her brother and sister! Happy Birthday Emmy, from all of us at Austin Art Metals!
